About Me

Hello! I’m Nathan

About Me

I’m a husband and a father to two incredible daughters who are teaching me something new every day. Their imagination, curiosity, and unfiltered love continually remind me how powerful stories can be — not just as entertainment, but as a way to explore meaning, courage, and hope. Watching the way they create, believe, and dream has deeply shaped how and why I build worlds of my own.

The Cliffside Riders grew out of that space — a place of wonder, responsibility, and the desire to leave something thoughtful behind.

Where This Story Comes From

Before writing, I spent time working at an architecture firm, learning to think in lines, shapes, and intention. I worked with blueprints, studied form and balance, and even helped design a soccer stadium. That experience taught me that nothing meaningful is accidental — every line has purpose, every structure tells a story.

That way of thinking found its way into this world through runes, symbols, and visual language. The magic system and iconography are loosely inspired by what I learned there: structure paired with meaning, beauty paired with function.

Behind the Scenes

Creating with meaning

Why I Write What I Write

Trauma and pain exist everywhere — physical, emotional, mental. I’ve seen it, lived alongside it, and spent time thinking about how people carry it differently. When I began writing this story, I didn’t want to ignore those realities or romanticize them. Instead, I wanted to explore them honestly.

This is a story about dragons and magic, yes — but also about relationships, belief, and the quiet decisions people make when they’re hurting. Faith, doubt, connection, and the act of choosing to believe in something greater than fear are all threads woven throughout this world.

How I Create

I’m a creator at heart, curious about many forms of making. Over the years I’ve drawn, worked with pottery, practiced photography, and explored other visual arts. Music is a newer medium for me, and writing is the newest of all — an attempt to bring everything together in one place.

I use the tools available to our generation to give shape to ideas I care about. I’m not a professional writer, artist, or musician — and I don’t pretend to be. What I am is someone who loves creating things with intention and meaning, even if they’re imperfect.

This project is my attempt to gather those threads — story, sound, symbol, and belief — into one evolving world.
